Hi there,

I have lead Webo from the outset.

At Webo, I am joined by a group of peers, or as we call ourselves, Spiders, as we strategise and coach the development of digital marketing platforms on the web. The Webo Academy and Webo Hubs are divisions of Webo.

Webo is based on the insights that a solution to keyword saturation, internet overcrowding, Online SME visibility, and more, was going to be needed.

At the age of twenty nine, as an Associate Professor of IT, Financial Management and Head of a Department of Accountancy I was privileged to have the time to read and maintain an insight to the development of the internet.

I believe that, at that time, I knew what I did not know however today, given the explosion of knowledge on online communication, I do not know, what I do not know. Perhaps a snapshot timeline on what has transpired and an overview of what we do will assist.

·      By 2004, when Webo was founded, it was evident to me that global reach via the internet would result in overcrowding.

·      By 2010, there were two hundred and seven million websites, and my vision was proving to be correct; SMEs fell in love with the internet, one-click easy-build site builders flourished, websites drove traffic to businesses. Digital marketing became a buzz word and consumer driven social media, as we know it, took control from ad agencies and the number of SME websites “exploded.”

·      By 2020 the internet was overcrowded; there were one billion seven hundred million websites and over eighty percent of all websites were not driving traffic to SMEs as they are buried within the massive avalanche of website growth.

·      By the beginning of 2021, my Vision of the problem that was to be become a reality; being alone on the internet was just that, lonely and a huge problem for SMEs needing traffic arose!

·      By 2022, Webo’ Digital Marketing Disruption that empowers communities, with a collective identity to effectively and collectively market themselves, become the solution to being found on the internet, by those that take up the offer to work with us.

·      The Current Problem: SME websites without huge marketing budgets are dormant and big B2B businesses scramble to find ways to grow their brands and SME client base as it becomes evident that their growth is now based on their reach and relationships with SMEs. Generally B2B Corporates are also not aware of the opportunity for audience building with community hubs and we plan to address this problem.

·      The Opportunity: Ask yourself, does your B2B brand need to grow your SME audience who need to enhance their online visibility so as to be found on the internet?

·      What We Do: We help B2B businesses grow their brand value by providing value added benefits to SME clients so that they have a sense of belonging to a community where membership benefits include collective marketing and an alternative simple, effective and easy way to get their customers to grow their businesses without huge marketing budgets.

·      In Summary: We simplify digital marketing; The disruption is the creation of branded B2B hub communities offering digital marketing benefits to members.

·      In Conclusion: A Webo Hub is an online community that is like a virtual mall on the internet. All share the same location but each has a unique address and “the mall” offers eBusiness, eCommerce and eMarketing software to attract, retain and grow customer audiences.

Warm regards,

Alan Mackenzie

CEO: Webo (Pty) Ltd

"My Vision" on the growth of the internet was not as detailed as what actually happened but I believed that overcrowding would result in there being a need for another way to be found.

My Career Path

My career led me to specialize in the growth of start-ups and in the turnaround of large under performing organisations. I have built, tried and tested a framework for performance enhancement that has delivered extra ordinary results. My experience in strategic forward-planning; operating within budgets; administration; negotiation; and the application of modern leadership methods has been gained as an FD, CFO, MD, CEO and DDG in the private and public sectors.

Together with our team of Spiders we have researched multiple SME sectors and have developed solutions to meet their needs.

The www.webo.directory , our development hub is an international directory and site builder that has some 6,500 businesses on it, it gets some 1.6 million hits a month, 500k from the USA, 300k bots and the rest from Europe and Africa.

Ask yourself: Does your branded 5 100+ thousand SME client community hub enjoy visibility and engagement? If not; let’s chat!

If I asked; How does your national/inter-national B2B help your SME customers grow their businesses in a way that also grows and makes your business more profitable would you answer be a tried and tested solution?  If you are interested in understanding how we can help you implement a win-win strategy; let us show you how.

Career Snapshot

At the age of 29 in 1982 I was an Academic, University HOD and an Associate Professor of IT and Financial Management until 1986 when I joined Hospitality.

Hospitality was a start-up that challenged the norms in the industrial catering, facilities management and hotel management industry. I took the company into the Premier Group six months after joining the company as the FD. I left as the Managing Director after selling the non-Premier shareholding to the international Sodexho Group.

From here in 1994 I started a black empowerment business in partnership with the Premier Group.

I left to work as a national anti-crime strategist for Business Against Crime (BAC), a very large national NGO and left as their CEO to take up the challenge of re engineering the Department of Justice.

My current project, Webo Hubs, has been a start-up that is now been launched.

The Ultimate Testimonial:  Senior executives of an international venture capital firm that represents some of the largest internet based companies in the world reviewed the detail on Webo Hubs and declared it to be unique and the most comprehensive hub (community directory, eBusiness, Ecommerce and eMarketing platform building SaaS) in the world.
